posted in: Events | 0

On Saturday, October 25, the Chesapeake Bay Trust will host its 5K for the Bay…Part Deux at Seneca Creek State Park in Montgomery County. This 3.1 mile run/walk will start at 7:45 am with all proceeds benefitting Chesapeake Bay restoration and educational programs.

Earlier this year the Trust held its annual 5K for the Bay at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis which sold out with more than 650 runners participating. In an effort to offer another opportunity to racers who couldn’t participate in that 5K, the Trust launched its 5K for the Bay…Part Deux to be held next month.

In total, more than 300 runners are expected to attend this race, to be held rain or shine. Pre-registration is $30 per runner ($35 on race day), students ages 10-17 are $10 and children nine and under are free. Leashed pets and jogging strollers are welcome and runners can register online at www.cbtrust.org/5kpartdeux.  All race registrants will receive a tee shirt, gourmet coffee, bagels, and Buffalo wings, as well as prizes for the fastest racers in various age groups.

In addition to Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company serving as the title sponsor for this event, there has been exceptional community support from local businesses. Buffalo Wild Wings, Toyota Scion, Panera Gaithersburg, Fleet Feet Gaithersburg, Wegmans, Bowie Baysox, and API Source have all joined as sponsors.
