On Saturday, June-Walk 16, the Chesapeake Bay Trust will host its first-ever 5K for the Bay at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. This 3.1 mile run/walk will start at 8:30 am with all proceeds benefitting Chesapeake Bay restoration and educational programs in Maryland.
In total, more than 250 runners are expected to attend this race, to be held rain or shine. Registration is $30 per runner, and kids 10 and under are free. Leashed pets and joggings strollers are welcome and runners can register online at www.cbtrust.org/5KfortheBay.
Race registrants will receive a tee shirt, water bottle, and other items with their registration fee. Prizes will be awarded for the top two fastest male and female runners. The Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company is donating coffee and Panera Bread is providing breakfast bagels for the event.
