The MSSA Striped Bass Championship will be held May 3 – 5, 2013. The tournament regularly attracts over 600 boats and 3,500 anglers.
For three days anglers enjoy catching Maryland’s Trophy Rockfish for a chance to be named The Champion and collect cash prizes. In 2012, angler Glenn Orr won $69,476, the second highest payout in tournament history.
12 weigh stations are located throughout the Bay for captains and crews to enter fish into the tournament. The Championship is designed for the everyday angler who is looking for a fun and enjoyable tournament weekend with friends, family, and co-workers.
Proceeds from the tournament go toward achieving the organization’s mission of preserving and protecting the rights, traditions, and future of sportfishing.
