The Chesapeake Bay Trust will host its Second Annual 5K for the Bay on Saturday, June 22 at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. The 3.1 mile run/walk begins at 8:30 am. Proceeds from the event will go towards Chesapeake Bay restoration and education.
More than 350 runners are expected to attend this year’s event to be held rain or shine. Registration is $30 per runner and kids 12 and under are free. Leashed pets and jogging strollers are welcome and participants can register online at www.cbtrust.org/5KfortheBay.
The first 350 individuals to register will receive a tee shirt and water bottle. There will be prizes for the fastest male and female runners in multiple age categories and pre-race packet pick-up will take place Friday, June 21 from 3-6 pm at Fleet Feet in Annapolis.
The event is sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company, Wegmans, Panera, Fleet Feet Annapolis, Bowie Baysox, Greenlayer, Annapolis Irish Festival, JEB Design, eCruisers LLC, and Bay Green Foundation.
