2016 Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival

The 2016 Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday May 21 and 22. Held at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Maryland, the annual two day event helps raise money for local charities.

Headlining the festival will be guitarist Joe Bonamassa, who began his career opening for B.B. King in 1989, when he was only 12 years old.

Today, he is hailed worldwide as one of the greatest guitar players of his generation, and is an ever-evolving singer-songwriter who has released 15 solo albums in the last 13 years, all on his own label, J&R Adventures.

“Because of Joe Bonamassa’s current popularity and the strength of the rest of the lineup, I anticipate a sellout on Sunday”  states Don Hooker, Promoter.

The Robert Cray Band will close on Saturday. This will be Robert Cray’s second appearance at CBBF, his first being in 2000.

In just over 40 years Cray and his band have recorded 20 studio releases, 15 of which have been on the Billboard charts, and played bars, concert halls, festivals, and arenas around the world.

Cray’s name appears on five Grammys and numerous W.C. Handy blues awards. Four years ago Cray was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.
